What does the AI signal score mean?

It is the model’s document score, scaled from 0 to 100. It is not a calibrated probability, a percentage of AI-written words, or proof of authorship. The result uses a fixed decision threshold, shown in Detection details.

Can DraftSift get a result wrong?

Yes. Human writing can be flagged, and AI writing can be missed. This includes new generators, AI-polished writing, and documents mixing human and AI text. A result should prompt a review, not serve as the sole basis for an academic or employment decision.

What can I check right now?

The current beta accepts coherent English text with 300–1,000 English words. Paste it directly or upload a UTF-8 .txt file up to 64 KB. We do not silently shorten documents. PDF, Word files, and sentence-level highlights are not available yet.

Is my writing saved or used for training?

No. Text is processed in memory and is not collected for training. A completed score is available in memory for up to 10 minutes to handle retries. Account details, essential session cookies and word-usage records keep your allowance accurate; we do not save article text or a document history. Authorized administrators can review account details and check metadata, including word counts, status, timing and model release, to provide support. Downloaded reports are saved to your device when you choose.

How many free words do I get?

Try 1,000 words per calendar month without an account, or create a Free account for 20,000 words per month. Successful checks use your allowance; failed checks return reserved words. Trial use in the same month counts toward a newly created account. Allowances reset on the first day of each month at 00:00 UTC and do not roll over. Shared-network trial limits help prevent abuse; signing in uses your own account allowance.

How do the proposed paid plans work?

Pro and Ultra are planned subscriptions with higher allowances and review features. Annual plans charge once per year; word allowances reset monthly and do not roll over. Paid plans will use the same detection model as Free. Subscriptions, long-document access, PDF reports, history, and batch tools are not open yet.

Privacy in this beta

Your text is sent to this website’s own model service only when you select “Scan for AI.” It is processed in memory, not saved to the database, sent to an external detection API, or collected for model training. A completed score can be replayed from memory for up to 10 minutes.

We store your account email, optional name, a salted password hash, session credentials in hashed form, and word-usage records (time, word count, status, processing duration, model release, safe failure code and keyed request fingerprints). Authorized administrators can review account and check metadata for support, adjust allowances and suspend accounts. These actions are logged; administrators cannot view your submitted article text. An essential, HttpOnly user session cookie lasts up to 30 days. Keyed network fingerprints protect trial and sign-in limits; network addresses are not stored in the account database. There are no advertising cookies or analytics.

Usage records are retained in this local beta until account deletion. Deleting an account removes its profile, sessions and usage records from the active database. Administrator action logs retain a target identifier, change details and a reason, with no stored snapshot of your email or name. Separate anonymous trial and network counters remain to prevent allowance resets. Operational backups may retain earlier records until replaced. Closing or refreshing the page clears your draft and visible result.

TXT files are read in your browser; only their text is submitted. A report is saved to your device only when you choose Download. Email verification and email password recovery are not connected in this beta.

Using DraftSift

This early-access tool provides an automated review signal for English writing. It can return false positives and false negatives. Do not use its result alone to make academic, employment, or other consequential decisions.

Submit only text you are authorized to process. Each check accepts 300–1,000 English words. Guest trials include 1,000 words per month; registered Free accounts include 20,000. Allowances reset monthly at 00:00 UTC on the first day and do not roll over. Successful checks are charged once; failed checks return reserved words. Stopping your browser from waiting does not cancel a check already running on the server.

Keep your credentials secure and do not create accounts to bypass limits. Email recovery is not connected in this local beta. Paid pricing and additional features remain previews; this version does not accept payment.
